A tough question

I am very much pro-life and have always believed that life begins at the catalyst that is conception. But I am not certain of what can constitute life.

What about when a baby is formed and has Anencephaly?

Anencephaly is when a baby develops without a brain, and sometimes no brain stem or top portion of the skull (flesh and bone).

Because of the lack of a brain, the baby will "never be able to exercise the spiritual and moral capacities of human life, e.g., love of God and neighbor," (quoting an artical)

Does anyone have any thoughts on if a baby without a brain is "alive"?

Absolutely. Trees don't even have brains, and it nobody ever says that they're not alive. Now, a baby with no brain probably can't be saved and won't live long. But as long as any part of that baby is taking in fuel and processing waste, it's alive.

Thinking deep these days. I agree with the above comment. Great question.

I'm doing good. Starting school in a week. Getting that nauseous feeling as a result. I am so not looking forward to it. I'm glad I'll be learning but aghhhh..... Glad you & Roxy got to do a couple of trips. That sounds fun. I've done a couple local trips. It was nice to get out of town for a few days. Did Tulsa get the big ice storm again this year? It followed me hear. We were out electricity for 4 days. Fun times were had. I'm just glad I had a place to escape to. What's new with you?

Hello Mr. Baker,
You made your site simple yet elegant. I see that you have a wide variety of interests and observations here!
Now is a good time to learn about the true God, Jehovah, and find out what His plans are for us. “And those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth. They will not be bewailed, neither will they be gathered up or be buried. As manure on the surface of the ground they will become.” (Jeremiah 25:33) (YLT)

I has to agree with my huband (KB). Life is life, even if it's very short. Wouldn't you still consider a stillborn baby to have been a baby?
